The importance of field activities in improving the teaching of school geography in the brazilian public education network

Teaching geography provides a vast path to knowledge and learning, building thinking beings and protagonists of their own history. Understanding the real world based on the content studied in the classroom happens precisely with the use of active methodologies, such as field activities. From this perspective, the objective of the work developed is to discuss the importance of field activities in teaching and learning school Geography. To achieve the proposed objective, the research presents a literature review with a systematization of ideas from the main authors who discuss the topic. With the results obtained, it is clear that field activities are essential in geography classes. Therefore, it helps in the development of cognitive interpretation skills between the theory seen in the classroom and the everyday experiences of students.
