Perceptions of high school students from Frei Menandro Kamps basic education school about violence against women

This research general objective was to comprehend the incorporated representations made by students in the high school at the Frei Menandro Kamps Basic Education School in the city of Três Barras/SC about the violence against women, their causes, consequences, and their perceptions about it. As for the metodology, this research is associated with the Sociology of Education, developed at the Frei Menandro Kamps Basic Education School, in the city of Três Barras/SC. The collect of data was realized with 3 (three) focal groups made of 18 (eighten) students in the high school. In this direction, two main categories emerges: 1] Personal experiences with violence against women; 2]Challenges and possibilities of the school and their individuals in the combat of violence against women. The results indicates intolerance representations about violence, even in context of knowledge by students about reproduction and commonness of violence, mainly, for childs who grow up in violent homes. All the participants had contact with violence scenes, being 5 (five) of them victims, along with other 17 (seventen) participants, they are part of a group who witness violence inside their families, with 1 (one) of them have lost two women of the family by feminicide. The main causes of violence indicated by the participants are the lack of quality education.
