Abstract

Post-COVID-19 functional impairment can impair functionality and the ability to perform activities of daily living, impair work performance and hinder social interaction. Due to the overload and the way activities are imposed in the workplace during the pandemic, teachers became ill. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the health of teaching workers after the COVID-19 pandemic and their quality of life. Cross-sectional, analytical and quantitative descriptive study, with teachers from the Planalto Norte Catarinense region. The following were used: investigative questionnaires with open and closed questions; and quality of life questionnaire (Quality of Working Life Questionnaire – QWLQ-bref). These were applied through an online electronic form made possible through the Google Forms application. The population was made up of 152 teachers, divided into two groups, G1 (time of service =/< than 15 years) and G2 (time of service =/> than 16 years). The mean age of G1 was 35.96 ± 8.47 years and that of G2 was 49.17 ± 7.4 years. Regardless of the group, 82.24% had difficulty working remotely; 57.89% had difficulty using technology, had restless sleep, woke up tired and had chronic pain. It was evident that teachers in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context reduced their quality of life and work. However, teachers who received institutional support for their work activities reflected greater appreciation and quality of life at work.

Keywords: pandemic; teachers; quality of life.
