This paper addresses interdisciplinarity and the need to pay attention to students' psychological development in the Brazilian educational context. It highlights the gap in the emphasis on socio-emotional skills, with a lack of specialized professionals in classrooms. Given this reality, the crucial importance of this aspect for the integral growth of students is highlighted. The study, of a basic nature, aims to describe, through bibliographical research, the development of students linked to the five socio-emotional skills: fear, anger, surprise, joy and affection. Recognizing that most schools neglect this approach in their routine, the relevance of this work stands out as a call for reflection and implementation of practices that promote the integral development of students. By integrating interdisciplinarity and a focus on socio-emotional competences, the aim is to contribute to building educational environments that are more sensitive and able to deal with emotional complexities, boosting the full potential of students.
Keywords: socio-emotional skills; classroom practice; interdisciplinarity.
