This article explores the practical implementation of Primary Health Care (PHC) principles at the Benemérito Ulla Schneider Basic Health Unit in Mafra, SC, emphasizing the importance of understanding PHC practices. The research, based on interviews with healthcare professionals and patients, identifies challenges and opportunities, focusing on the specific needs of the community, including issues related to men's health. A proposed intervention project aims to raise awareness about prostate cancer. The effective implementation of this project in corporate lectures and community approaches demonstrated receptivity, particularly highlighted by female participation. Discussions address the importance of inclusive approaches in promoting men's health, identifying challenges such as communication barriers, and opportunities to enhance PHC effectiveness. Lessons learned emphasize the need for adaptability and continuous educational strategies for sustainable health interventions. The combination of results and lessons learned provides a solid foundation for PHC improvements, offering valuable insights for similar contexts.
