We conduct the work by presenting an overview of Brazilian legislation regarding public policies aimed at inclusive educational actions for the deaf. The main objective of the work is to discuss some laws, decrees, and official documents that contribute to the inclusion of deaf individuals in regular schools and in the development of deaf communities. The research provides a documentary review with a qualitative approach. In the research context, we consider that inclusive education is not simply about making schools accessible; it also involves minimizing the barriers that students encounter in an attempt to make the classroom a conducive environment for interactions between deaf and hearing individuals, thereby contributing to the access, retention, and success of all.
Keywords: inclusive education; deaf; linguistic development; accessibility.
