The production of short videos has been widely used both in educational settings and for entertainment. They have proven to be a highly effective methodological resource, not only in terms of knowledge acquisition but also in the delight they bring, given their widespread acceptance among students and teachers. In the theoretical framework, various authors were discussed who address audiovisual production in schools as an educational strategy and its possibilities, including: Bona (2021), Duarte (2009), Moran (1995), Morettin (2009), Silva (2007), Thiollent (2022), among others. The proposed objective was to seek knowledge through the production of short videos by students and to organize an event we call the "Lumis Festival" with the intention of watching, reflecting upon, and discussing the productions created. A qualitative methodological approach was used, following Thiollent (2022), and data analysis is still in progress as the research is ongoing. A second phase of productions was proposed, as the first one was experimental and highly productive. After the discussion, students expressed a desire to create productions again, focusing on different topics to challenge themselves further. The results so far have been satisfactory, and a comprehensive analysis will be conducted upon completion of the second phase, which, as previously mentioned, is ongoing. Thus, it is understood that this research has expanded the knowledge base regarding the production of short videos in schools, highlighting their potential for dynamic knowledge production. For future work, it is recommended to explore the possibilities of expanding the use of this methodological tool as a strategy in Brazilian basic education.
