Abstract

Among the plural themes that condition school pedagogical practices, legitimized by the documents that govern education in Brazil and described in my annual plans, this work highlights an experience report on the project developed in a public school in Palhoça – Santa Catarina, in the year 2023, entitled “You have a story, you have a right!”. The main objectives permeated the appropriation of an understanding of the rights of all people, marked by gender, race, ethnicity, class, generation, etc., the social recognition of the visibility of human rights, the culture of peace in the school territory and the forms to combat any type of prejudice and discrimination towards young people. The methodology is anchored in debates about hate speech, women's struggles, the fragility of democracy, torture and violations of human dignity, educational justice, guarantees for LGBTQIA+ populations, etc.; we materialize workshops with artistic productions – posters, audiovisuals, pamphlets, seminars, etc.; symbolically, we created a student movement that reached the school community, making it a reflection on rights, prejudices, democracy and youth. We were able to notice that throughout the project, a change in the individual behavior of some students, demystifying the idea that human rights are useless and we were able to see an attentive look at the demands of young people to know and combat forms of violence that the incidents were the results obtained in the short term. However, this project must be understood as part of the formation of young people in the schooling process, their cultures and identities.
