The Free Brazil Movement (MBL) is an organization that became notable in contemporary Brazil for its role in the 2016 coup. It was created in 2013, during the June Days, forming the field of the so-called new right. He acted and played a leading role in a series of mobilizations, such as, in addition to the coup, the eviction of schools in 2016, he participated in the 2016, 2018 and 2022 elections, supported the counter-reforms promoted by the Temer and Bolsonaro governments, among other actions. When analyzing all these years, we notice a certain pattern in its performance. In the present work, we would like to address the common elements in the MBL modus operandi during this process. We divide these forms into two axes: appropriation of signs from the left and propagation and validation of discourses on social networks. The understanding here is that the MBL is a party aimed at the constant policing of the State and the rulers, in defense of the neoliberal power project. Considering that this project is defended by the ruling class, the MBL then acts as an “ideological patrol of the bourgeoisie”.
